Welcome! Thank you for your interest in Cornia Bookkeeping. I understand that no business owner is going to trust a bookkeeper that they don't know. This is why I wanted to tell you a little bit more about myself.
I am a wife and a mother. We have two young kids, boy and girl, and our boy is AuDHD. My kids are the main reason why I got back into bookkeeping. I wanted to be able to have a career where I could still be there for them and not just see them for an hour or two each day. And I know a lot of small business owners don't have bookkeepers and struggle to stay open, so I wanted to help them get organized and see how their business really is financially.
I was an office manager for a small printer, ink, and toner company in Kaysville, Utah for thirteen years. There, I was introduced to bookkeeping. I learned the basics and had help from our CPA when it came to categorizing transactions. I learned A/R, A/P, inventory management, payroll, and paying payroll taxes and sales tax. Once I had our first child, it was decided that I could no longer stay with that company, so I switched careers to healthcare and doing front desk work. This allowed for more flexibility.
I was promoted to Office Coordinator at the clinic I worked; however, when a new company took over, they no longer had Coordinators, so I had to go back to front desk. While there, I implemented a referral tracking system, processed medical records, did surgery authorizations, and helped to train other front desk employees.
When I decided to get back into bookkeeping, I wanted to dig deeper into it. I decided to get my Bookkeeping Certificate through the NACPB, Intuit ProAdvisor Level 1 and 2 Certification, Intuit ProAdvisor Payroll Certification, and Intuit Bookkeeping Certification. I started with a foundation in bookkeeping while I was an office manager and these certifications allowed me to build on top of that foundation and really understand it better.
I had a spinal fusion in October 2024. During my time off, I was able to study and get my certifications. I hope to do more traveling now that I had the fusion. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, puzzles, game nights, movies, and anything relaxing!
I hope this helps you understand me a little better. If you are interested in a FREE bookkeeping phone consultation, you can book on the homepage by clicking the book now button, or you can click here. I really want to see small businesses succeed and I've noticed that they succeed when their books are organized, accurate, and done in a timely manner.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
